United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Galway Green
NEW FL2 for September 2010 delivery (60 number)

New freelander 2 HSE

Been waiting for confirmation r e MY11 fl2 before placing my order.

Received this from "a dealer".....

We have just had our latest order call for August production and it did not include any 2011 model year Freelanders, so with regard to 11 MY vehicles this would mean that no 11MY cars will be made until September so I would imagine getting the first cars here at the end of September /early October.

Having seen and driven the vehicle I think you will be very disappointed if you were not to hold on until the new car arrives and once we are in July it will be much easier to quote the best possible price for the New car.

So I have decided to get the FL2 ordered now for 1 sept delivery rather than wait for my11

I chose Galway Green HSE Auto .....

Hope I made the right choice! Whistle Sept 1 2010 Now the PROUD owner of Galway Green Auto Diesel HSE

Surely any choice of FL2 is the right choice...lol

I'm confused, aren't you contradicting yourself that 'you will be very disappointed if you were not to hold on' and then ordering a MY10? Phil

England 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black

Driving a Galway Green 2010 HSE Auto at the moment while the D3 gets a bit of Yeovil Love. VERY nice colour and I have to say not a bad car, although driving like a granny I'm only getting 32mpg, which is no better than my D3 Auto. I test drove a 110 DC in the same colour a couple of weeks back and I have to say it do look the bizz....

Yet on the D4 it looks cack.

Nice choice Yaugher Thumbs Up Current driveway contents:

In the first 200 miles or so I'm averaging 40mpg..it has dropped down from about 42 as Ive been doing a fair bit of town driving and the stop start doesn't work in the hot weather.

I'd like an auto but at the moment I need the economy of the manual.

The green wasn't my first choice but really like it now!!!

Personally, I would have waited for ther new 2011MY car. It will be a better car than the current car. Thats what facelifts are all about, a manufacturer revises the styling, and puts right many of the niggles of the previous car along with new improvements.

A late 2010MY car's residuals will suffer if it is registered on the new '60' plate, when you will also be able to get a facelift car on a '60' plate.

I reckon you have made a mistake by not waiting just a few months. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

if you are in the uk there might be a VAT increase... depends whether LR have anticipated and prepared to reduce the cost?

Don't listen to them - patience my eye, every day you waste is a day you rob yourself from driveing your FL2.

Do it, do it now, and hang the consequesces.

SHMBO comments that I have less patience than a wasp in a jam jar, I thinks she overestimates my patience Very Happy

Seriously, it's like buying any toy/gadget, it's out of date before you place the order, just enjoy it for what it is, and ignore the little doubting voices in your head saying "but what if". Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

I'd buy one a couple of years old-from when the build quality was up to scratch-from what you lot say the build quality is deteriating with the success and extra sales Whistle

So do I because we just ordered an HSE Auto in Santorini Black with Almond leather, privacy and xenons.

Waiting until September/October would have been a pain for us, also there could well be a LR price rise and an increase in VAT too. So we negotiated best we could (hard work at our local dealer, they didn't want to give anything away..) and took the plunge.

We hope to keep the thing for 7-10 years so the depreciation of 2010MY vs 2011MY will be long forgotten about.

I'm new to this forum but so far looks really useful and informative.

I was just about to place an order for anew Freelander 2 GS/XS when a dealer suggested waiting until the new vehicle comes out in July as it has a newer/better diesel engine. Can anyone shed any light on this as I do't have any problem with the existing engine. The only thing I can think that they are doing is maybe increasing the power and/or reducing emissions. Are there any other mods planned?

Kelvin
