I have fitted both these items and no great shakes. With regard the plastic cover around the front tow eye this needs to be removed to give easy access to the tow eye if required after fitting. Otherwise reduces the access with plastic cover still in situ. Following the Mantec guide / FITTING INSTRUCTIONS for my MY14 SD4 there was an anomaly, the handbrake cables did not interfere with fitting so I did not use the supplied brackets regarding these. Front skid plate takes 15 minutes, Tank guard, on my own, took 45minutes. Mine have been on the car for 6 months with no problems and has given me peace of mind when off road. |

Fitted the front plate a few months ago, but just got around to fitting the tank guard today. Tank guard ... it's amazing when under there just how low slung and vulnerable the plastic fuel tank is ![]()
Front plate, with the tank guard in view.
Will feel much more confident now when it's off road. ![]() Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip, Bluetooth Music Streaming Module. |

Had already thought of that Alex, but it does lower the centre of gravity and it means I can now chuck it through corners at warp speeds and as it also smooths out the airflow underneath, that'll add another 25mph to my top speed . |

Not that you would want to but maybe some LED lights could be fitted either side of the front tow point |

I've currently taken my tank guard off - having been round the Bala 4x4 site I seem to have bent the plate slightly, so it now catches the exhaust under start/stop, so just need to straighten it... 2000 Xei 1.8 gone

You should fit an access hatch so that you can easily check it for leaks |
