United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey
Opinions please.

I feel the need to freshen up our FL2 after nearly 3 years ownership.

As some of you know, I was looking to fit the bodykit to the car. But I reckon this may not be the best way to go now. So I think I am going to buy new door panels and rear bumper and have them all colour coded like the 2010 model.

What do you think? Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

And it's a yes from me too Thumbs Up. I'm actually looking at exactly the same idea, I think LR call it the premium pack but it includes the rear spoiler which I don't need. The four door bottoms plus the tiny bit behind the front wheel from LR comes primed only and are £190 inc, still waiting for a quote on the two front panels and the large rear but this includes colour coded sensors so I'm going to make sure I'm sat down for that one.
(Don't know if you have noticed but I've done the door handles like you suggested when we met up in France - you were right 10 minutes Bow down )

coding makes more sense than a body kit though, but I suspect you wont keep the car for much more than a year so why bother?

ah the expense people go to in a vain attempt to wrestle 'car of the year' from me Laughing

just fit the right wheels, no need for anything else....I even scratched my car to give you guys a fighting chance.

Just extra bits to keep clean, polish and try to keep away from sharp objects. Glad mine has not got and I would certainly not pay for them either Thumbs Up 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Got the pricing on the parts today.

I need, the four door panels and two front wing covers at the bottom, complete rear bumper, there is not a cover for the front and rear bumpers.

I am going to stick with the standard front bumper and have the two bottom bits painted along with the whole front bumper as at 33000 miles there are a few stone chips etc. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Front Door Panels £29.66 each + VAT
Rear Door Panels £32.63 each + VAT
Wing Bottoms £14.70 each + VAT
Rear Bumper, Fully primed £207.14 + VAT

My Land Rover Dealer has quoted £450 +VAT to paint and fit all the new parts and paint the front bumper inc the bottom two grey bits.

So should all come in at under £1000 and have a rear bumper to sell later on! Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

For side panels I got £188 to your £181 so I'm OK with that. How do you think they colour code the rear sensors? a thin coat of paint ?. Your out of my league on the £1000 budget, going to look at just the car side panels first. Thanks for the good info. Thumbs Up

They simply paint them, Land Rover only list one type for the painted and unpainted versions. But like you Andy, I may do the side panels first and then the bumpers later on.

The good thing about Stornaway is that the black part of the bumpers is not too obvious, so by doing the door panels first, it won't look out of place.

Regarding the door panels ect, I may be getting them a little cheaper from another source, I'll keep you posted. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

I've been looking at either getting my existing door bottoms painted. A local car paint shop suggest that there are flexible paints now that can be successfully applied over/onto plastic - as most bumpers are now made this way - so worst case I would take mine off and drive around for a week or so while they were painted, or get some from a breakers yard.
Only one paint colour code for Stornoway too Thumbs Up

Andy, forget painting the originals, it's not too bad when they are new but it will peel off after a while, a simple stone chip will cause havoc.

One of my customers makes the Freelander 2 bumper, the grey textured section, like the door panels has an ingrediant to stop it sticking to the mould.

Both the Land Rover dealerships in Leicestershire and my Vauxhall dealership, refuse to paint the original panels. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
