Reversing sensors and fixed towbar

Are there any members of the forum out there that have an after maket fixed towbar and if so does it set off the reversing sensors obvioulsy when reversing?

I am about to book for an after market towbar and would like to know your experiences before committing

Cheers

Speak to Chester Towbars mate. They can advise.
I recently had a detachable put on by them.
Awesome workmanship and good prices.

Thanks Andy,
I was going to do as you suggest, being a cynic I wanted impartial advice first from owners experiences, my last towbar fitter said I needed a snap off etc. when it was attached, the sensors didn't detect it Evil or Very Mad

Appreciate any views anyone has

I sometimes don't remove my detachable if I will be using it again the next day and have found that it has no effect on the reversing sensors whatsoever. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

No problems wtih just the towbar on but you put a bike rack or a trailer behind you and it lets you know!!! most annoying - thats why the car needs to be reprogrammed to turn off the rear sensors when you have electrics hooked up!! There's always a way forward!

I had a Witter detachable towbar fitted recently, together with the dedicated (plug-in) wiring kit.

When I took it to my LR dealer to get the software updated, they tried, but said it was not possible due to it not being genuine LR.

Anyone else find this to be the case, or are they BS'ing me? They charged me 30 minutes' labour for the privilege too.
