New Defender "style headlights anyone ?

Came across an advert on Alibaba.com for New Defender style LED headlights for the Freelander 2.
Also found a nice article on the DRIVE2.RU site whre someone has fitted them and is very pleased.
I wonder if I can persuade Simon at Powerful UK to get some in ?

Have a look in my gallery as I can't seem to add the pic to the post Rolling Eyes

You can buy them yourself using Aliexpress - £907 for the pair though! And rather illegal! I've bought quite a few things on Aliexpress without problems, always delivered within a week or so from China.

Also the rear lights to match for £409

I like those, but I don't like them enough to pay £907 for them!
I'll stick with the signature lights it came with. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Just came across this thread .
Anybody out there bought and fitted a pair of these?
Would be interested to see their specs?

I checked feedback on Aliexpress before Christmas - most were negative. However, I've just taken a look and all I can find are 3 positive reviews , all the other reviews seemed to have disappeared.
There are several vendors selling them on AliExpress for wildly varying prices from £420 up to over £1200.
Also, you have to be mindful of shipping, as some ship for free, others ship for over £200 and everything in between.
Again, Xenon or just LED. Even here, LED can be dearer than Xenon, so there's another thing that needs to be considered. Prices just seem to be random.

The ones above claim to be xenon and seem to be the cheapest.

However, if fitting to a pre-2012, I believe you will need the plug-n-play loom as you would when retro-fitting the post 2012 headlights. See these:

There are also ones available with a loom so you can change the drl colour.

Then there's also the tail lights.

Then there's always these Shocked

So, it's a bloody minefield. Big Cry

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the links
As you say " a minefield "
I interpret the lamps as all being led.
I like the designs ( not the rears ) but they will not be e marked and will probably violate UK regulations on several points , meaning MOT failure and insurance implications.
It's a shame we cannot buy legal versions as the Freelander headlights are such a flexible design it would be a great way to update and improve our vehicles. FL2 SD4 XS 2013 Orkney Grey
