I wouldn't bother replacing that stuff. If you can get the bulkhead out strip that stuff off and replace it with some self adhesive heatproof insulation. I did mine years ago and think it is much better as well as being considerably cheaper.

This is what mine looked like after I covered it with the new insulation. Forgot to mention, it's also less prone to damage.

So you've removed the metal heat shield and covered it in heat resistant sound insulation. Good idea. Is it hard to get that shielding out? Does it go out the top? |

Mine was a diesel but I would imagine it would be similar. I comes out from above once the scuttle panel is removed. From what I remember it is held in place by some small nut's and bolts behind the existing insulation. Use gloves as the old insulation is a nasty skin irritant. Putting it back together with the new adhesive heatproof insulation is a lot easier than using fibre stuff.
