So worth looking at changing the crankshaft sensor for sure.

No, if the engine is running the CPS is fine. There are many posts on the forum on the problems a faulty CPS or its wiring can give. Using an obd device will at least tell you what the ECM is sending to the CJB and rev counter. Then you can decide on refurbishing or replacing the instrument cluster.

Cheers all. I'll look to get myself an Autel Maxi Ap200.

I will try a electric reset too by disconnecting the battery.

Like some other cars, will I need a stereo code? As there is nothing I got with the car.

Cheers

The Radio/Infotainment should be fine.

Basically the battery leads are disconnected from the battery, and touched together for a couple of minutes to fully remove an residual charge to dissipate from the electronic modules, then reconnect battery. Note you will need to recalibrate/set a few things like windows.

Is everything else working on Instrument Cluster? That is, could it be a poor earth to that whole unit?

Have you checked a the other car systems thoroughly? FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

Post edited to fix it, it appears to have included my comma as part of the link!

As others said though, if the engine is running fine then it's unlikely to be the CPS - I'd keep one spare though, they do like to go.
