The steering wheel needs to be straight when going straight. So either the track rod lengths weren't set exactly as they were, or the splines aren't lined up exactly as they were in relation between the old and new rack.

Thank you, that was my initial thoughts and I had planned on getting the tracking sorted once the rear subframe was done but I'll have to sort the front out and get it closer to get the fault gone |

I've just had a quick look and the knuckle in the footwell that attaches to the shaft coming from the steering rack will only fit on in one place so I have no adjustment there, assume I'll have to alter the tie rod ends to straighten it all now then.

From past experience counting the turns on the track rod ends never seems to work as different makes of track rod ends vary in length and depth of thread. you will need to get the steering wheel straight then get the tracking done, any adjustments will need to done equaly both sides to keep the steering wheel in the correct position. 2013 FL2 XS.

That's the plan tomorrow to adjust the tie rod ends equally to straighten the steering up.

So adjusted the track rods to get the wheels straight with the steering wheel and it's driving much straighter now, indicators cancel when straightened up etc but the terrain fault is still there.

Not sure if my recent similar issues were the same as described here, but my '09 Freelander had an issue whereby the error signal (orange triangle with exclamation mark in the middle) flashed and the audible buzzer went off whenever I turned sharp left. This was followed by “Faulty terrain response system” and “Special programs disabled” messages. The immediate result was the transmission started to jolt under acceleration. Stopping the vehicle, ejecting the key and then restarting almost always cured the issue... until the next occurrence.
