Seats

Hello I've just brought a 2007 Freelander 2.2 TD4 GS - The interior is pretty shabby with the manual cloth seats. Can I replace the seats with leather or half leather electric seats. Mine has the plugs under the seats so if so, are they plug and play? or do I need some software changes - Many Thanks

Thank you for you kind reply - I expect that answer would apply to every question asked on this forum. All I wanted to know if anyone has done this option to a 2007 2.2TD4 - Unlike you I am not an expert on this and that is why I asked the question. I didn't ask how to do this as I can read all by myself, but if it's an option that involves a lot of software then I know it is beyond what I can do - So again thank you for your helpful answer

From your reply to 3Landertwo, and the fact that I think I can see posts from you dated 2015, I am not sure if you are asking for help, or need someone to talk to how has done the seat swap.

This linked thread seems a good place to start as the poster is experiencing a few problems fitting heated seats including having to reconfigure car.

Otherwise the FL2 Repair Manual and Wiring Diagrams on this site contains a lot of info that you require.

If you really need someone to talk to who has done the job then I suggest you look down this list of threads and PM (Personal Message) a likely Thread Poster.

Here is a recent seat problem (and useful info on taking motor out).

It shows different wiring used with memory seats, although I think it was a later model.

Does it have seat heating as standard?
I think the non memory electric seats could well be plug n play, or close to it.
Memory seats are a different thing altogether though, requiring additional wiring, and CCF programme modifications. Same if you don't have factory seat heating, as retrofitting heating requires a different but correct spec HVAC module, and the CCF modifications too. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The replacement for the SE.
2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Almost sold.
2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE. Gone.

Latvia 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Santorini Black

I retrofitted electric leather seats with memory function to my freelander around a year ago. I also made a post over here. In my case, the car came with manual cloth seats, BUT it had seat heating. I checked the wiring loom and it seemed to have all connections. Connected the new seats and everything is working up to this day, so it was plug and play.
