I have had quite a deep chip in mine for about 4 months but as it's not cracked, I have left it alone.

My LR dealer (the only one left in Luxembourg after Ford left LR) told me the windscreen has to be replaced completely. The crack was too deep to get it repaired by Carglas...

I've had a small chip filled recently. Also had same in my first FL2. They warn you that when they start they need to "open up" the hole to get resin in. This may cause the crack to open which will mean new screen and excess to pay. Mine was fine. Repair is G'teed for as long as you have the car so if it cracks from the chip after repair you get a new screen FOC!

I actually had a chip repaired by Autoglass last week. They did a first class job as well. It was at a stall in the carpark of a local shopping centre so I just turned up with my Insurance certificate and they did the rest. Currently no charge with Norwich Union but the chap did say that he thought that may be changing with new policies being taken out now. |

I once got some circular stick on disc to place over a chip to keep it clean and hopefully prevent the cracks stretching out any further

My windscreen was chipped last week by a guy mowing the verge outside his house on a ride on mower which threw up stones that chipped the screen in 2 places.
