Late 07 Freelander 2 Fitted with Gen4 Haldex?
Hi All, new owner of a 57 Plate SD4 HSE. It's on 140k miles, and has decent history going back to 2013, prior to which it was apparently a LR company car or pool car. It had about 5 years of dealer servicing till 2018, which stopped after they refused to repair a key on the £500 a year extended warranty! A local garage then looked after. It isn't clear whether the dealer did any of the gearbox/diff/ptu/Haldex servicing, although they are kind of ticked on one of the inspection sheets, however not charged for, so I've bought all the service bits based on the vin (8H058xxxx) and age of the vehicle.
When about to drain the Haldex, I noticed it all looked a bit too clean, and the pump is dated 2015... looking at pictures its almost certainly a gen4 unit. Is this a known upgrade? I can't find much, except a forum post stating that it didn't work! I suppose a dealer could probably code it in? Either way, time to buy a Gen 4 filter kit

A gen4 isn't an upgrade for the gen3 Haldex, it's technically a downgrade, as the gen3 is more reliable.
Also LR say the data required for a gen4 to function correctly can't be programmed into a gen3 vehicle, as the various modules are different, so I'm curious as to how it's not giving a warning on starting.Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Gone.
2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE. Gone.
Audi A5 convertible, my daily driver.
1972 Hillman Avenger GT, the project.

Very odd. No issues on the dash, and the drive mode select seems to work and the car feels a bit different when it's enabled. I don't have any of the dedicated scan tools so can't dig much other information out, but happy to poke around if it's of interest to anyone.
