Double towing hook(-s)?

Hi all,

If at all possible, I'd like to add on an extra towing eye on the rear of my Freelander 2, 2007, SE i6, left hand drive.
Now, the towing eye sits at the right hand side.

so is it possible to buy one from say an English car, and just change that bracket for the new one which is extended with another towing eye on the left side of the car, meaning there would be on on each side?

I am not sure, but it could be part no. LR002873?

I don't know if this is a left side or right side, or if it is possible at all.

For example, I found this:

Kind regards,
Redfox.

The part you have linked goes on the right hand side of the car. I suspect there was never a towing eye for the left side. Unless left hand drive cars come so equipped?
What do you intend to use it for, wouldn't a towbar provide all the attachment point you'd ever need? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I think a towbar does another sort of job.
The towing eye can be used otherwise.
Cheers,

I think all FL2 have the tow eye on the right hand side regardless of where the steering wheel is. Notwithstanding that, it has been done and with a thorough write up. Facebook - Joe Self Feb 2021 FL2ORG

However, it requires that the lower valance is cut on the left hand side and as it is a different profile it does not look pretty.

If you want to have a towbar as well then you will have to modify the crossbar which will invalidate any EU/local approvals which may well invalidate the insurance regarding towing. FL2 HSE Lux 2013
