You can fit load resistors to your led trailer wiring which solves the problem. It's because the leds draw such little currentvthat the car doesn't detect that it has another circuit (trailer) attached. Used them when wiring my new trailer a few years ago and work perfectly. If you accidently short a light circuit in the trailer whilst say inserting a bulb then the FL2 shuts that circuit down and you need to turn the ignition off and on to re-energise that circuit.

Yes Jules I saw the Utube video regarding that, but it didn't work for me but my trusty AP200 did the deed |

The 12-15 FREELANDER won’t work with led trailer lighting, if it’s a caravan you’re planning on towing then contact Sargent electronic they will sell you the relevant VLM module which I believe is the VLM4. I previously had a Lexus RX400h which combined with my then new caravan worked all the lights including the indicators but I got no visual or audible warning until I fitted the VLM4, so I’m informed that module will work on the FL2. |
