You can also get them from eBay. Search 'mega fuse' , that's where I got mine from, after a reply from Luke. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !

I had a faulty passenger door lock - it wouldn’t lock which resulted in something like not sending the 'operation complete' signal and the car simply kept trying to operate the lock. It played absolute havoc with my battery (winter, car outside overnight) - flat to the extent that the starter couldn't crank the engine, transmission errors showing up etc. New door lock and the problem instantly went away, never to return. |

It could be that the design is so bad that the fuse holder itself is the limiting component! |

Ok, so back to square one, i did get to mount a pole switch on the negative pole yesterday, turned that to off, charged the battery full, and today(-17°, ), battery was fully charged with the ctec charger, it was completely full, turned the battey switch on, had a external heater in the engine room(2000w for an good hour or so, because this has always did the trick previous winters.

Have you managed to check the actual cranking speed of the starter motor.

Can cranking speed be effected by the cold you mean? Yes most definitely, as the battery capacity drops, but the engine oil is thicker, requiring more current from a battery which has dropped in ability to supply said current. A lead acid battery capacity drops off at an alarming rate once its dropped below -10°C or so. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Gone. 2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE. Gone.
