I am replacing the AC evaporator in my freelander 2
Got most of the dash loose but is being held in the centre around the screen air vents. Am I missing something or does it just need more force.

Have a look on YouTube especially Powerful UK I’m sure they’ve had the centre part of the dash out before.

Searched high and low on you tube. No luck.
Got most of it out now, just can't remove the main cross beam. The bar goes straight through the heater box. Got to be removed to get the box out.

Did you look at the service manual here on the site?

The evaporator can be removed without dash removal. The steering column, knee airbag and pedals are removed and then the side of the evaporator box and the ac pipes are cut to allow it to slide out.
If you are buying a replacement evaporator make sure you buy the one with separate pipes and evaporator. The version with the fixed pipes can't be fitted without everything being taken out.
