It's a process of sending an email to gap with your complete car configuration which can be easily acquired by plugging the tool into your car at the cost of £25 for each particular update.

Gap will then send you software ( new firmware with respective software update requested ) to be downloaded into your device. Then you can upload it to your car.

below is a link from gap

scroll down to the transmission for a detailed explanation Regards,
Germplus.

Thanks Germplus....Do they do that at main dealers ?
The gear box is definitely better...1st thing went into drive as smooth as a very smooth thing, but after that it jolted again, went to the shops and after half an hour it was perfect again, then after 5 min of driving it jolted again, It seams to be temperature related , I'm not sure a software update would fix it,, I might be very wrong, who knows.....

Any main dealer can do it, as well as most indys, who use SDD (Main dealer diag) Thumbs Up

Mike42,

Do have earth to the transmission? sounds like a loose connection or like you said a temperature related. Plug it in a code reader again and see if it recorded the recent jolt fault.

Bad earth can cause random intermediate problems.

check this out.

https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic16694.html

if you have access to IID or SSD you can know if the transmission needs a software update or not.

I wouldn't rule the software update option out .... Regards,
Germplus.

It’s the software update needed…. It will solve your problem… it did ours!

👍 mine would jolt when pulling away, say, from being held on an incline or simply in a stationary line of traffic. Garage ran the update through, never an issue since

SDD is the Dealer level diagnostic system. It's the ultimate in diagnosing these cars and very very expensive. You want to get an Autel AP200. Very good and very cheap.

Thought I'd post a update.....Christine as the car is now known as (after a red Plymouth Fury ) has cured herself.
After about a month of jolting every time you went into drive, Its now as smooth as anything....Last week I decided to visit Dartford transmission for a software update. On the way the auto box got smoother and smoother no jolts at all. Anyway the kind people could not fit me in there an then so I came back home....since then the box has been 100%....I've not been back to Dartford and its been over a week without a problem.....I think the threat of someone playing with her software frightened her.....hence the new name of Christine......she mended herself.......Time will tell
Whats that I hear "bad to the bone" Shocked Shocked
