Rear shock failure

Hi, i did do a search but didn't find the right results.

Had rear shocks fitted just over a year ago (Bilstein) One has recently failed, garage said there's no claim for it.
I'm planning on replacing it myself, but my question is... would you just replace the one?
Thanks

Try contacting Bilstein directly, not sure why they would not want that short life cycle "addressed"? Three possibilities, 1)you are a monster on shocks,2)premature product failure & 3)a faulty install by the shop.

How many thousands of km of corrugated roads have they done?

At least 5,000km on my car, they get a hammering down under https://vimeo.com/364281135 Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

OE shocks and springs Thumbs Up
The originals do 120k + miles, so why risk anything other than OE?

I'd be getting onto Bilstein. No claim? That sounds dodgy. MY11 SD4 SE Auto
