2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Manual Biscay Blue

Rear shock failure

Hi, i did do a search but didn't find the right results.

Had rear shocks fitted just over a year ago (Bilstein) One has recently failed, garage said there's no claim for it.
I'm planning on replacing it myself, but my question is... would you just replace the one?

replace BOTH, good engineering practice.

Fit both, and use OE from Advanced Factors. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

Try contacting Bilstein directly, not sure why they would not want that short life cycle "addressed"? Three possibilities, 1)you are a monster on shocks,2)premature product failure & 3)a faulty install by the shop.

Which brand coil springs do you guys recommend?

OE shocks and springs
The originals do 120k + miles, so why risk anything other than OE?
I got mine from AF. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

I'd be getting onto Bilstein. No claim? That sounds dodgy. MY11 SD4 SE Auto
