Just bought the Sealey disc type tester. Now excuse me for sounding a bit thick, ( don,t answer that ), but the limited instructions state measuring the strength shows by how many discs float. Now does that mean more discs less strength or visa versa. |

Thanks for that. Still confusing though. Guy says read off the discs at the bottom. ie third one up but then goes on to say count the ones that are floating for the correct reading. |

Anti-freeze is not just to stop the coolant from freezing, it has corrosion inhibitors. So topping up with water dilutes the corrosion protection. Always use diluted anti-freeze of the correct strength.

Sussed it now folks. Daft really and obvious once i had taken more notice of the video. My old fashioned tester only read in numbers and was instant. Disc type takes a couple of seconds to settle. Anyway thanks for the input everyone. One positive result of the forum is it gets you away from watching rubbish on tv like call the midwife. |
