The old boy is to be prosecuted…
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-60173188 Technically correct I suppose but in the public interest? He probably won’t drive again and I’d perhaps argue that in this instance, the very systems that enforce the rules failed the society they are designed to protect as equally as the old boy failed it. Did nobody who sold the man a car over his 70 years of driving not inform DVLA of the sale? Computer say, “ah… Mr Bloggs F has just become the registered keeper of car AB123XYZ but our records say no driving licence ever issued to Mr Bloggs and no SORN in effect for car AB123XYZ. |

Not sure what APNR Camera Map you used, but this Google map of my local area doesn't seem to to have recorded lots of the ANPR cameras I have seen dotted around local trunk roads and shopping centres. https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?msa=0...8&z=10 By looking at the time they recorded me driving by, I am certain that I was clocked when driving through the 'Managed Motorway' section of the M5 near Bristol. (at the correct speed) PS Although I passed my car test normally just over 60 years ago, I did carry over from the RAF a HGV 3 licence, without further test, and that was original gained in an ancient WW2 ex German air cooled diesel lorry, I never managed to achieve much more than 60 kph in it. https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic30707.html?highlight=truck FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011) FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 79k+ miles) (MY2015) Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History (Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?) |
