2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Stornoway Grey

2007 FL2 XS TD4 project

Hi, we moved to somewhere pretty remote last year and we’re having our 1st winter in the new house, our vehicles aren’t exactly icey/snowy hill friendly so decided it would be good to have a 4x4 of some sort to deal with harsh weather and also to help out with garden waste etc

Looked at FL1, Tuscon, and a couple of very rough FL2s, this just made us realise an FL2 was what we wanted. the week after Christmas this one popped up for sale in a dealers not far away and a deal was done

Broken fog light lens, luckily there was a new one in the passenger door pocket!

Dead daddy long legs in the headlamp so out it comes

Passenger air vent missing the adjuster, again, one supplied in the glove box!

Replaced the tired gear lever and handbrake gaiters

Sourced a spare

Changed what looked like the original pollen filter and fitted a lifetime air filter

Rear flaps

Front spats/bibs

Boot handle was broken and the micro switch didn’t work so bought a facelift part from Powerfull UK

Cheap steering wheel to get recovered at some stage

Off with the old and on with the new

Had a go at fitting a tomtom start 62 we had into the cubby area, fitted a dual USB socket behind the glove box, leaves another USB for a dash cam

There are a few small bubbles at the bottom of the drivers side wing so on the look out for another, it’s pretty clean otherwise for having 154k on it!
I’d really like to fit a facelift front bumper and some side steps as the Mrs struggles to get in and out of it lol

Haha maybe a bit over the top for a cheap winter hack but would be epic lol

More tidying
Silly bits to brighten up the interior and a gear knob in better shape than the original

Boot net and fire extinguisher, not that I don’t have faith in Land Rover

A stone got flicked up and lodged between the near side front brake caliper and disc, ruining the disc, so fitted new brakes all round, then a very cheap set of Disco sport wheels with 6mm Pirelli Scorpion Zeros popped up and thought they’d freshen up the old girl

Those wheels look like a 5 spoke version of the Volvo Vulcanis (6 spoke) 18 inch alloys off of a 2016 Volvo XC60

as fitted to ozjeff62 vehicle (his photo above)

2014 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Orkney Grey

In similar position to you, also moved to a more rural location in NI, had our share of snow already this winter. The Freelander 2 coped admirably

Hi, no lift kit that I can see, it did have new dampers a couple of months before I bought it though, not sure if they’re genuine or aftermarket

I’m thinking of moving on from the Freelander, would anyone be interested in the centre panel with tom Tom fitted on a swap for your standard one plus cash basis?

2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Baltic Blue

Just to say that the rear windscreen wiper is parked in the wrong place. The wavy lines on the heated screen gives it away. It would be worth checking that the rear wiper motor isn’t getting hot as there have been some fires caused by the motor normally due to seized wiper shafts. Other than that, very nice!
