England 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Lago Grey
Goes into limp mode when driving in the rain

Hi
Ok, so in the dry, perfect, if I do about 20 miles in the rain it goes in to the reduced engine performance, Maf sensor error, so the RAC say, changed sensor, same again, air filter dry, also air box dry, but maf feels a little moist, all pipes are fine, so where is the moist air getting in, RAC moved the air pipe errors cleared, less rain drives perfect, any ideas ?

Thanks

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Bali Blue

I have a problem 2008 model. The rain gets into the loom behind the battery tray into the fuse box behind the glove box inside. I would check the rain sensor as well as it only happens when it senses rain. Also the loom under the air filter housing is prone to damage by people changing the air filter. Another area is the scuttle drains, each side empties to the wing drains if not blocked. Plenty to keep you busy there. Hope it helps you.
