Is something missing?

Whilst checking oil I noticed oil at rear of engine around a brass threaded bush. Should there be something in this hole?

Same on mine (57 auto), although I had to wipe the oil off to see that it was brass!

on the new one in our showroom there is one ( an engine cover retaining bulb) but not on most of the older cars. could be that there for engine covers in different cars. (the engine is apparently a Peugeot unit.) they all do that!
