Freelander prices going up?

Is it my imagination that FL2 prices are climbing? About a year ago I bought an 11 reg FL2 GS 38k miles with a sticker price of about ｣17.5k I now see a 12 reg GS with 48 k miles for a similar price. There are other examples I could quote. What's the general view? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

I very recently traded my 59 plate XS - very well specified and maintained but with relatively high mileage. Having offered me an insulting trade in price (think 'WeBuyAnyCar') the sales manager, through the salesman, was really not interested in 'chucking' anything in as he said he had no need to. I did manage to get an improved PX value though.

The salesman said that my car would almost certainly be resold on their forecourt. If there is a strong demand then sticker prices / deals will reflect that. Neutral

Part ex my FL2 XS MY2013 in a 3 weeks ago and dealer has put ｣3500 on it.

Also according to the description on their website I am surprised to see it now has a heated front screen. If only I had known that when I owned it that would have saved me having to scrape the front screen in the winter! Surprised Disco 4 HSE SDV6 Orkney Grey

｣3500 margin sounds like very easy money, mind you the posh saleroom, comfy chairs and smart suits have got to be paid for somehow I guess.

Two years ago when I purchased mine the typical main dealer price for a 2yo SD4 HSE was ｣25-26K. There was a flood of MY12 cars, many with premium leather/privacy glass/19" wheels and very low mileage for around ｣27K. Some 50+ cars at dealers all under ｣28K, now they are looking for ｣30K for MY14 HSE/metropolis and close to ｣27K for a 2yo HSE.

There were very few facelift Freelanders made in 60/11/61 plates because of the Evoque intro keeping the 2nd hand prices high and a lot sold for big discounts after that but prices seem to have settled a bit now.

Don't mind them making ｣3.5K or 15% markup on a used approved but when they try to make the same again with very low trade-in prices compared to book they are having a laugh.

Just looked on LR site for a low mileage GS at MY13, the cheapest I can find is ｣23,850, that's over 4K more than I've just paid. Bow down

Probably the pest part of ｣30k new Question maybe a bit more 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200
