when warm does the oil temp read correct? thats deffo a problem and could contribute as you say sounds like you found your staring point - pun intended Stewart

When the engine is warm, the oil temperature sensor is showing over 300 Deg. C. So way out.

looks like a simple resistance thing. i would measure it first / disconnect and see what you read and how it starts. Stewart

It is a THERMISTOR. Variable resistance with temperature. Can be NTC AND PTC. Negative or Positive Temperature Coeficient. |
