Scotland 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Mauritius Blue
I eventually found a Freelander 2

I have had an urge to get a Freelander 2 for some time , but I cannot forget about the disastrous discovery td5 That I bought many years ago . It wasn't so much the Disco - rather the guy who did me ... and I fell for it - so I guess it was my own fault .
I plucked up enough courage about 3 months ago, to get a td4 gs 2007 manual as a stopgap . After I did a few repairs , I sold it with the intention to get an automatic , to replace my Hyundai tucson auto which I sold prior . Anyway as I liked the old td4 with 136k miles (it ran lovely) . I started looking for an Automatic Freelander 2 , preferably from Cambridge area or even farther south. Black suits the car , but its not for me as I have had one ! I spoke to our local 4x4 specialist , he advised getting as new as possible with up to 80k and fsh . After looking for some time - there seems to be plenty black td4's manual , and people selling privately seem to think they can get dealer prices . I realised I was not going to get everything I wanted - so I eventually got a 2014 , with 65k miles SD4 GS was hoping for an XS . The Lady I spoke with took her uncles car from Devon to Edinburgh where she lives , the owner sadly passed away . Usually I am not bothered about the colour too much - but I know now that Mauritius blue is sought after . I am happy with it albeit a wee bit concerned about hearing the turbo spooling up and down .

Thats nice low mileage..... make sure you keep it well serviced and it should be a good car...if you can service it yourself it'd be a good idea to change all the fluids if you're planning to keep it Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Orkney Grey

Hello and welcome.
Glad you've found your Fl2. Mauritius blue is a great colour and not as common as the multitude of greys, mine included! quite a few of us on here have come via Discovery 2 ownership. Personally I loved mine but it did cost a bit to keep and had a few big bills over the years.
As for the late model GS because they were highly specced to begin with I don't miss much at all. My 3 ideal items which it doesn't have would be upgraded stereo with nav, heated windscreen and sunroof. Other than that it's a great practical all round family tow car. I'm already wondering about what I'll get to replace it when the time comes but in reality I'll probably keep it for another 5 years. I'm only on 86000 miles so should be plenty of life left in it. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948
