Hub replacement options

My local mechanic/friend found that the drive shaft was corroded to the hub when he went to replace my driveshaft for me. So the next step is to replace the hub and bearing assembly. Q’s...
• Genuine or OEM offerings?
• Full knuckle with hub/bearing assembly or hub and bearing only?
• Again to the above; genuine or OEM?

Thank you,
Si

Would be interesting to find out who makes the original parts as it won't be JLR.
Think I would go OEM, but that's just my opinion. Thumbs Up Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.
Freelander now gone.

I guess I would like to know as I either buy a ‘genuine’ knuckle second hand either stored or hardly used for just under £100 or an OEM option around £115.

The complete knuckle /bearing assembly are made by.......Britpart ! I was going down this route when the time came for wheel bearing change but would be interested if anyone has used these before and if they are any good? 2013 FL2 XS.

I used a Britpart knuckle/bearing on my Fl2 last year , I was a bit dubious of using it but didn't have any issues and the part was good quality.

Thanks thats what I wanted to hear, I think I did read somewhere that Britpart source these from a third party? 2013 FL2 XS.

JLR will also source theirs from a third party, but who. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !

If it isn’t known who makes the part in question for JLR, then it clearly isn’t known who the OEM is. Perhaps people are meaning 'aftermarket' parts?

I would go for a FAG/SKF/SNR bearing assembly as these are good known makes. Personally I avoid Britpart for all its worth....
A good known second hand knuckle assembly is also an option. Seems like the front bearings lasts around 125.000 miles, often some longer.

I went down the bearing route a few years ago: https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic31586.html
