Some plates.....can be an issue......we had two Capri 2.8i over at Lommel for some press shots, one was silver the other black, all went well for two days of the shoot and a couple of my mates in SVE drove them back (they were trailered over for the shoot) all went well until they got to HMRC at Dover.....they hadn’t seen them before so were interested in the cars, nothing else......until because of the delay looking at them another official decided to check the details, they had the wrong plates on as after the shoot whoever replaced the road plates got it wrong, no amount of pleading and explaining (these guys knew the engineers as they were always driving odd stuff over the channel) would help....both cars were impounded, and stayed there for a few weeks until things got sorted out (fines paid). Regards

If you watched, I mean REALLY watched the first episode of current Line of Duty, when a stream of BMW police cars and two vans are going to arrest a suspect, but get way-laid buy a book makers robbery ........ the BMW's are E41s, then E61s and the kidney grilles change from chrome to black, in the same journey ??? |

someone I once knew had two yellow Dolomite sprints, identical except for one had a black vinyl roof. He only used to insure one and put the same plate on both so both he and his wife could drive around separately. Never got caught as it was in deepest darkest Cornwall and plod was only interested in law breaking holiday makers |

My dad and his mate used to ride about on identical BSA Bantams with the same number plate and presumably tax and insurance , if they bothered with those technicalities 🤔 Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948
