Latvia 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Santorini Black

Hello, im thinking of replacing glowplugs since it is extremely difficult to start my freelander 2 in temperatures below -5C. And since I have to remove the inlet manifold, it would be wise to remove the flaps as well. But in order to save some pain, I have found an inlent manifold from 2014 freelander, without flaps for 60 euro. Is it a straight swap, and can I buy it without second doubt? (my freelander is 2008)

Can you check the part number? if it matches the one listed in this link as "without swirl" then yes its a direct replacement;

All you need to is block the vacuum pipe and I'd suggest replacing the seal as well

I'm assuming from the above that later models, including SD4 don't have the flaps in the inlet manifold? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Thank you guys for advice. Indeed the part numbers were the same, and that little arrow pointed to ''no swirl flaps'' so im quite happy for getting a manifold for only 60 EUR. Two more questions.

1) How did you blank the vacuum pipe?

2) Did you also wash all the gunk out of manifold? I ordered some '' EGR cleaning spray'', but not sure if i should put the pressure washer in. Technically its only a piece of plastic.

I have to admit I didn't fit it myself I got the local garage to fit it along with replacing the glow plugs at the same time. So I'm not sure what they did.

Yes, I cleaned it all out. I started with different degreasers but they didn't really work. In the end I found some white spirit in the shed along with some old paint brushes that seem to best/cheapest way and it came out really clean.

Cleaned mine out the same way as i clean out the R40 manifolds, oven cleaner soaked for a few hours then jet washed it out.
