No, unless there is lots of water in the filter - due to poor quality fuel or the filter has never been changed. Changing the filter regularly is all that is required in the UK. Jules |

Had a look at some websites - the Evoque service kit come either with or without a "pollution sensor".

I have the connector on my 62 plate HSE Lux as well, but the filter has nothing to plug it into - only a blank hole for the plug. |

Replaced the fuel filter on my SD4 2013 and found to my surprise a sensor attached to the old filter. (to my surprise as many posts on the forum indicates that the FL2 do not have this sensor fitted).

Perhaps the sensor is only used on vehicles destined for countries where diesel fuel quality is variable. Other than that I have no idea why we dont see the sensors on UK vehicles. Jules |

Mine was missing recently and the dealer instructed how to fit it (Freelander 2 / LR2).

I replaced the diesel filter yesterday and now the message is gone.

The message is back during the start-ups and OBD2 is registering a mal function in the sensor, which does not make sense since it is new.

Definitely get your battery tested under load as a low battery causes endless issues with the Freelander 2 electronic modules. Just do a search on batteries on the forum and you will see. Since you are in a hot environment do you fill your tank to capacity? Maybe you have moisture building up in it somehow? Just spit balling...... |
