Driving after Lockdown

I don’t know if it is just Derbyshire but the standard of driving seems to have slipped during lockdown. This guy “parked” behind me. Glad it wasn’t next to me🤣

Yes, there appears to be a lack of basic driving skills,
probably some through lack of driving over the shutdown.
this morning whilst sat in the motor a young lass dived into the space in front of
me, shunted backwards, forwards backwards and then forwards again, and ended
up in same position she first started in, with rear of the motor sticking out i n the road. Rolling Eyes
and that is where it was left!!
it couldn't have been that long ago she passed the test.

Same in the US, people got used to having the freeways to themselves.

Be careful out there

In the US for 2020 people drove less and fatal motor vehicle accidents increased.

If you normalize the data for the number of miles traveled I think the increase in fatalities is about 25%

You are correct people forgot how to drive

Take care

Paul

They can't even park a pram properly. What hope is there in a carpark!

Or this a few days ago in Lulworth where someone with a week handbrake had left his car and gone to the beach. Blocked the road and police had it dragged on to a recovery truck and taken away. I would love to have seen the people when they returned and found their car missing and then had to get transport to wherever it had been taken. Laughing

If parking downhill point front wheels to gutter. If parking uphill point front wheels away from gutter. That is what I was taught and still do it. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

David

Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me......

Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again......

That is debatable...
Some may park the car at more than 1 foot from the gutter and then one may find that car on the other side of the road...
Just like in the above picture... Rolling with laughter

Should have realised. I was taught to park "within cooee" of the gutter!

within a manageable distance

The only time I don't park within cooee of the gutter!
