I don’t know if it is just Derbyshire but the standard of driving seems to have slipped during lockdown. This guy “parked” behind me. Glad it wasn’t next to me🤣

Yes, there appears to be a lack of basic driving skills,

Same in the US, people got used to having the freeways to themselves. |

To be fair that’s the standard of parking in general these days. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200 |

They can't even park a pram properly. What hope is there in a carpark!

Or this a few days ago in Lulworth where someone with a week handbrake had left his car and gone to the beach. Blocked the road and police had it dragged on to a recovery truck and taken away. I would love to have seen the people when they returned and found their car missing and then had to get transport to wherever it had been taken. |

If parking downhill point front wheels to gutter. If parking uphill point front wheels away from gutter. That is what I was taught and still do it. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

That is debatable... Some may park the car at more than 1 foot from the gutter and then one may find that car on the other side of the road... Just like in the above picture... ![]() |

Should have realised. I was taught to park "within cooee" of the gutter!

To quote Woody Allen in Annie Hall "Don't worry. We can walk to the kerb from here" |
