I have an intermittent problem with locking a couple of my doors...the dreaded door actuators perhaps. It doesn't fail all the time though. It is almost as if the black bit of the interior door latch isn't travelling quite enough to lock the door, if I lock the door with the window open and press the black lever a few mm's it locks. Is there any place to lubricate the system so this moves more freely, or is it just a sign that I need to replace the whole actuator? |

Thanks for the link to all the door lock posts. I have, of course, looked through all of these - but couldn't find a reference to lubrication, which was my specific question. I have tried some spray grease on the lever, and it does seem to have cured it for now...we will see. Thanks for all the helpful replies. |

As per your specific question - it's just a sign that you need to replace the whole actuator.

I've got the same problem on my passenger door. On most warm/hot days during the summer it works fine, but on cooler days I have to manually push the lever after opening the drivers door, and can then get out and lock the car.

Wet weather seems to have sorted the passenger rear door. Can't think of any other reason why its decided to start working again. |
