my car in general is very smart for its age, I intend to keep it a few more years, has anyone ever had rear wheel arches this bad?? Any ideas as to what a professional could do and at what sort of price ?

I suspect the stupid rubber arch strips are responsible for that.

Are you sure that’s not really a Range Rover?

I am quite shocked, ours is a 2006 i6 and the wings/cills and bodywork do not show a single bubble of rust, where as our previous 2011 Range Rover was riddled with the stuff! Regards

yes I will go with that I have removed mine on previous fl/2 s cleaned out the crud around the inner arch and
wax oiled it thoroughly no problems
I am about to do the same to swmbo,s 09 hst
i dont think it will cost a fortune to remedy also if you are keeping the car then its well worth it

P38 v8 auto no problems,great howle from exhausts when giving it welly
Td5 auto head gasket,no5 pot not uncommon but good car.
1st Tdv6s manual epb problem fixed under warranty(stealer said"never heard of this before,i suggested he looked at d3 forum.
2nd Tdv6 se auto epb
3rd Tdv6 xs auto 2008,swmbo,s favourite.

I guess I will follow the steps used in this video and give it a go myself when I order all the items needed.

I did that but didn’t replace them more trouble than worth just get the hose pipe under there when you wash it.
