What's your current expected annual mileage?

Just doing my insurance and trying to guess my annual mileage. I had a look and since my MOT at the end of March I have only done 1100 miles, 400 of which was in a single return trip to Kent to see my daughter. My wife's car has only done about 500 miles over the same period. So what sort of mileage are people expecting to do over the next year given the COVID uncertainty? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

1,300 miles so far this year. Like you Dorset, mainly one trip to see our daughter in Swanage, and another trip to see family in Devon. Very economical on fuel, but the £950 a year for the LR extended warranty looks expensive on that mileage!

I’ve insured the Freelander for 6000, miles and the Scooby for 14000 miles . All my hobbies generally involve a drive somewhere. I might drop to around 16000 in total . Yes when the lock down started I wrote to the LR Extended Warranty people saying that I was over 70 and was on lock down and couldn't use the car so how about a refund or an extension of the end date. I received absolutely no response. Rolling Eyes 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I'm still doing 1000 miles per month just commuting to and from work, that doesn't include any social mileage. Moving house soon though which will cut this by 2/3. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Strange thing is, I've probably done around 20 actual miles since lockdown. I'm on a limited mileage policy as realistically I just don't do the miles. Now, I've just renewed my policy which has gone up by £50. Shopped around and couldn't get it any cheaper. I queeried a discount based on the fact I've probably done less than half my annual mileage - I would usually have been on holiday twice by now , which puts the biggest single dent in my yearly mileage total. No dice. Strange considering the fact they wanted a large sum of money off of me when I went over one year by 150 or so miles !

In the last 10 months since bush fires & Covid, party no point traveling & not allowed to travel. At home we pretty much walk for shopping. As a result 689 km.

I will have to drive in 2 months time to the mechanic to get the car checked for registration. So I might reach 700 km!

I am surprised how dusty the car gets simply sitting in the garage. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Fuji White

Just looked at my MOT record

Aug 2017 16205
July 2018 27387
July 2019 40135
July 2020 48811

So my normal 12-13k miles per year, has dropped to 8-9k.

I will now start looking to see where the £600+ I saved on fuel has got on! FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

With COVID I am 100 mile per month = 1,200 /year

Pre COVID about 500 miles per month = 6,000 / year

Now I just change the engine oil every 6 months, mileage is meaningless

In fact I changed it yesterday.

It would be funny if I spent more per year on maintenance than on Fuel

We need a Vaccine

Thanks

Paul

Gills car has done 3 miles since March, she normally does 4-5000 miles a year, being on a syringe driver filled with morphine means her driving days are probably over, just can't bring myself to get rid of her MG3 just yet.

I have done 7,000 miles since march - mainly running Gill to and from the hospital / shops, and a quick trip down to Cornwall with the van, probably going back there in 4 weeks when the break in chemo allows.
I normally do 25k a year, but working from home (currently out of work) has cut out the 40 miles each way trip to work. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner
