Not that either really appeal to me, but if I needed one then it would be the one built in the UK rather than one built in a foreign factory. LR or Tata seems to have missed a rather large point in buying British. I can see the point in assembling ewokes in China for sale in China- tax wise it makes sense. But I would resign from a company rather than drive a foreign built car- and have done so when I was told my next car was a BMW, did the same again when they presented me at another company with a Merc. I'm with you Andy and not just cars , Britain needs to climb back to the top of the design and manufacture league where it belongs and to do that people need to buy British

Except for body panels and trim most cars are built from parts accessed in any part of the world, I'm not sure where JLR press their panels and which factories are just assembly plants, but normally any car is country assembled, tax plays a great part of where components are made and again even some components are assembled.

Andy although I can agree with your sentiment, I would (and did) drive anything my company supplied. The most important thing to me was that it was reliable and comfortable. From what I read Ineos will only produce a maximum of 25,000 a year. I think the future of cars for most of us lays in common chassis, mechanics and electronic systems/software. across the world and manufacturers. If we are to have a future as a country in the technological world, we need to increase our ability to educate and produce trained mechanics, technicians, and engineers. Also we need as a country to recognise that making things is as important as making money. Wow that's quite a strong principle you really dont like foreign cars! Driven and owned Peugeot and VW (we still have 2 VWs as well as the Landrover and Mini) and find them excellent. I do prefer and am proud to drive British. My dad drove BL products exclusively for virtually all of my childhood which is where I developed my love of them but in recent years hes driven Skoda Yetis which again are a decent little 4x4 too.
