I know I have a battery problem, 3 previous fail to starts have been evidence of that although on those 3 occasions I have been able to 'rescue' myself. During a recent business trip to Glasgow Airport I left the car parked for two and a half days after which time it failed to start; it was somewhat inconvenient to discover the problem at 6pm just as I got in the car to drive to Milton Keynes! (that did end up being a late night!!!)

Have to say LR Assist were great and arrived within 30 minutes of making the call, although the process of jump starting the car only took minutes the technician was anxious to run some test before and after jumping it in order to diagnose the fault, so it was about 45 minutes before I was on my way. Bottom line is 99% certain it is a battery fault, car needs to go back to dealer for longer term diagnosis before they will replace the battery under warranty. Will do that in next couple of weeks but just too busy to do it at present.

If only everyone at LR dealership was as good as the LR Assist guy they would have a fantastic business.

Company cars ... a thing of the past - May 2013.

I had a flat battery a few weeks ago after the car was stood in my garage for 3 or 4 days. LR Assist came out and did some checks after jump starting the car including putting a clip on ammeter on the battery lead.
All checked out ok including the battery.
LR Assist guy said that when switching off, the system does various checks, talking to the ECU etc. before finally shutting everything down after about twenty minutes. He said something may have gone out of sequence.
The car was recently stood for two and a half weeks while I was away and started straight away.
I checked the battery voltage before I went away, 12.57 volts and when I got back 12.40 volts.
