Strange lighting problem

Hi guy's.
I've change a few interiour lights and puddle lights with led ones.
Everyting Works fine, incl the mirror puddle lights, just the doorcard puddle lights stoped working, changed them back to 'normal' bulbs, but no succes.
Fuse 17 passenger footwel is fine, pulled it out and interior lights went out.
What went wrong here? 'per aspera ad astra'

In a nutshell, resistance.

I don't know how old your FL is, but when I did my MY13, I had problems with the door mirror lamps. I bought some Ring resistors and that cured the problem.

You need to remember that LED's run on a lot less current than W5W lamps.

Other manufacturers are available

It is a 2011 2.2 sd4 hse. When changing back to w5w lamps they do not work either, checked for and codes en there were none.
Led's are from powerful uk, witch i trust to be ok. 'per aspera ad astra'

When I did mine I had a similar issue which turned out to be the mirror puddle lamps which although they worked ok required resistors fitted in order for the door puddle lamps to work correctly as without the resistors the door puddle lamps just flashed on very briefly then went off. To check refit standard bulbs in the mirror puddle lamps then the led door lamps should then work as they should. Thumbs Up

I can only advise based on my MY13,

The conversion has been done before on older models; have a look via the Search function...I recall that there was quite a comprehensive 'How to' and review at some point or other.

Can anyone tell me what the advantages are from having internal LED bulbs . It just seems you’re putting yourself through a lot of stress with all the problems and faults they bring about fitting them to a vehicle that was not intended to have them .

Aside from giving the vehicle a cleaner, brighter light, using less voltage and making it somewhat more modern you mean?

Probably the same reason as someone who adds a spoiler/mudflaps/privacy film/full-size spare/etc etc.......it's for individuality. Wouldn't the world be a boring place if everyone and their vehicles were the same?

LED lights do give a crisper brighter light. I fitted a kit from powerful to my interior including footwell, two overheads and boot. All error free, easily done.

That is why I custom build a lot of my additions to the vehicle. More individuality, as anyone can go to Halfords, hit the internet , eBay .....
