I recently posted on a separate forum after searching through other posts regarding swapping out my system for something with more function.

I keep getting referred to models different from mine which means the devices aren't compatible.

I don't mind cost or work involved, I love my Freelander and would like to modernize it slightly. I would ideally like a Bluetooth/Sat nav (android) and as a bonus have it work with the steering controls and keep reversing sensor functions.

This is my model interior - People tell me I would have to swap the whole center console out which I don't mind but nobody can offer advice or similar situations so I am reluctant to get going incase nothing works.

Is the 2012 model the facelifted interior? I have the 2011MY and in terms of replacing the head unit, you just need a double DIN head unit, don't have to replace the whole dash.

However the extra kit to keep it working fully with the fibre optics, amp, reverse parking sensors etc is very prohibitive. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Our site's search tool works very well. If I'm not mistaken if you have a car with the base system I believe it's cheaper to replace the car. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I think the problem lies in this forum where people don't think there's different versions of this dash. Regular double din retro fit displays don't work in this section. I don't believe that screen can be taken out normally.
