Powerful Uk do the tailgate handle in primer for £99. They even have a fitting guide which I used to fit mine.

At 111 miles away I would drive to collect it, probably cheaper than courier and safer, take your tools and fit it there. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

I can reccomend Shiply, we had a good quote via them to collect our Freelander from the seller as I am unable to drive at the present time, price was £120 and distance was 86 miles. Car was collected on time and delivered to us on time the price included insurance.

Though I live in Cyprus at the moment, it ain't that warm mostly in single figures at sea level and -2 to -5 in the mountains, you would need to do a very circuitous route to do a 111 mile run in one direction, I assumed that most owners would be in the 55 to 80 age group, I am at the top end, and would give it a go, may hurt for a few day after Will a tail gate fit inside, not flat but with the rear seats down I would think so. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

I’ve just swapped one on for a later type with the chrome handle as I bought a freelander that had been rammed into the back . Think I did it the most difficult way tbh by leaving the hinges on the car as the bolts are harder to remove . Better way is to remove top portion of rear rubber seal remove plastic hinge covers then both rear interior grab handles and lower headlining to get access to the bolts going up into the hinges also the multi plug for tailgate electrics . It’s definitely a 3 man job one at each side and one with the bolts. I had to make slight adjustments to make a good fit and equal gaps etc , but really pleased with result . |

Thanks Tigertim, did you disconnect the wiring loom from the tailgate or from the car?

Hi I disconnected the wiring from each component in the tailgate and re threaded it into newer tailgate but it would have been easier to just access the Multi plug under headlining . My car is 2009 and tailgate I put on is off a2011 everything is the same although I did upgrade the wiper arm for a more modern look Tim |

Thanks Tim, I really think I got a bargain, it was £170 for complete tailgate, I knocked him down to £140.
