Recently I could not enter the car as it failed to respond to either of my 2 Remotes.
I entered the Car with the Key to find the battery was fully charged and the Car started first time and the Remotes were now working.
Been OK since but any ideas what could have caused this so I can try to prevent it happening again.

If it happens again I would ask your neighbours if they have the same problem at the same time as you. One road near me over Xmas was full of people trying to lock or unlock their cars without any success. The cause was traced to a nearby TV transmitter that was being calibrated.
Also, if you are near the sea and there is any there is any coastguard activity their radios seem to knock out some car remotes. I was watching a coastguard / helicopter display last year and turned around to see a car park of irate people wondering why there remotes wouldn't work. As soon as the display ended the remotes all worked.

As usual suspects like car battery and charged fobs have been eliminaated I would guess at interferance. _________________

There's a 'sleep' mode which the car enters if the battery voltage drops below a certain level - this is to prevent the battery being run down to the point at which the car won't start.

Had the car been parked for some time (days/weeks)? If not it may be a sign that there's a problem with your battery. On the other hand it could just be a case of the electrical gremlins.

I think this is the most likely explanation, I had not used the Car since before Xmas but I do have a Solar Charger plugged in which should maintain the Battery charge. Perhaps all the recent cold weather was just too much for it. Anyway all seems well now following some use of the Car. Thanks for the suggestions.

Doesn't the handbook recommend that the battery is disconnected before charging? Is it now permissble to use in situ trickle chargers (eg Optimax) now?

A couple of weeks ago I noticed that the range on my key fob was getting shorter so swapped to the spare.

This didn't seem to help and now I sometimes have to press the fob 3 or 4 times just to get the car to open. Also I now sometimes need to be next to the car for it to work at all.

This doesn't happen all the time and today I had the FL2 serviced. The dealer insisted there was nothing wrong but both fobs still do it.

Any ideas?

My wife once had a puegeot, the fobs wouldnt open the car outside in open air, in the garage the fobs worked fine! The dealer changed something in the car. Maybe its the sender unit playing up? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Does it happen at home? Work? Both? Rule out external influences and narrow it down.
There are many wireless devices these days all vying for space, some will argue that different frequencies don't interfere with each other, in reality they do.

My colleague at the office has one of those squish squash things, if I park next to his car and lock mine first he cannot lock his, conversely the same with opening, he has to put the key directly against the lock to get it to work.

Hope you get to the bottom of it, keep us posted, it may take a while as it is a process of elimination unless you discover something obvious.

Yes it's under warranty. FL61 with 42000 miles. The dealer did come outside and try it. He even pressed it himself 3+ times before it opened!! He suggested holding up my arm.

I just agreed and left because I was late for an appointment.
