I thought the oil pressure warning light should illuminate when ignition is turned on but engine not yet started. If not then there is a fault within the circuit. warning light should go out when engine starts. It looks like an oil can.

What jules said. There is no way it will not have the oil pressure warning light. Does the handbook not show a picture with the location of it, there is a picture in the handbook for the earlier models.

Thanks for the answers guys. Well, I’m now 90% convinced it does not have one. After looking at loads of video on YouTube trying to spot later models with the ignition on but without the engine running, I’ve not seen one yet! I’ve seen video of the Evoque and that also does not appear to have an oil light. So I checked another of my JLR cars and that definitely does not have an oil light. Anyway, it’s back to the JLR people soon for the definitive answer. Freelander 2 Metropolis. 2014 |

The oil pressure sensor is just above and slightly to the left the oil filter on the TD4/SD4 so I guess one could unplug it and see want happens in the way of dashboard warnings .

Low oil pressure warning is part of the “command centre” warnings.
