Hi All, just to say that over the last two months that I have had MY2013 HSE Lux Sd4, on a long trip up to 100 miles, I am recording an average of 42 miles to the gallon. on a shorter motorway trip I am still getting 36-38 mpg, this compares quite favorable with my previous Freelander 1, which would always average around 40 mpg on a long trip.

Why is it when for donkeys years we have been buying fuel meaured in litres that the fuel consumption figures are given in miles per gallon. Don't land Rover know that we stopped using gallons years ago? Surely the fuel computer should give consumption in miles per 10 litres, then we wouldn't have to mess about converting the gallons to litres. Get up to date Land Rover and ditch this outdated measure that we no longer trade in.

I think I am too old to switch, KM per Litres - or miles per litres - make no sense to me.

I still find when building/diy it is far easier to measure in inches than metric.....I can easily remember 73” rather than 1854mm, who measures in thousands of silly little bits?

It gets worse if you mistakenly use American gallons instead of the now defunct British gallon as their gallon is smaller than the Imperial gallon. Mind you, you could use it as a bargaining point when buying a used car - "It only does how many to the gallon!" - but forgetting to mention you are using American gallons.

I have drill bits from 6mm down in 0.1mm increments. Tapping holes for threads it is important & it is easier to have the right diameter. Even if it is a hole for a bolt it really needs to be the correct diameter so it does not work loose. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
