the spoiler has a chip in it, and also the spoilers require metal brackets to clamp them on to the cars body work, otherwise they are held on just by double sided 3M tape

yep, I found a spoiler, it was painted my colour, bought it, and then asked if it had the bracket, got a refund then found out what the brackets looked like, but he went against his word and sold it straight away

The weird thing is, when I fitted mine, one of the clamps does not even touch the inside of the tailgate, so I used a small 2/3mm plastic packing block? But the original 3M tape is so strong you don't really need the clamps.

did bid on it, sold for £87, okay if you've a red car already, but taking into account respray and repair, it wasn't worth it

Seems too be 2 different fixing methods ie clamp styles running at the moment though the blow moulding surfaces seem identical except in the area of the fixings. Are the after market items different to OE fit.
