Rust treatment

I have a 2007 Freelander 2 SE with 42000 on the clock in pretty much immaculate condition, its 12 years old now & after reading several threads about rust round wheel-arches & doors etc I am pondering whether to give it a Dinitrol treatment around these areas.

Access to these areas is not easy & dont want to mess the trim etc up if there is not a lot of point. I had a Shogun before & it was held together with rust & I dont want the freelander to go the same way.

Is there any real long term treatment done to Freelanders in the factory in the box section areas & wheel-arches.

I can tell you for sure it’s well worth taking the trim off the sills as you won’t believe the amount of crap that ends up in there. It’s a moisture trap, the trim comes off easy enough.

Re: Rust treatment

Had them off when I fitted the side steps, fairly clean underneath & no sign of any rust. I waxoyled under the trims before replacing them.

Had the plastics out of the rear wheel arches as well, again no rust. I waxoyled underneath them before replacing. Waxoyled along the edge of wheel arches as well before fitting new anti chip trims.
Have the front wheel arches left to do when weather is settled.

I've used this in the past and it also comes with a long extension to spray the inside of the sills. https://www.bilthamber.com/corrosion-prote.../dynax-s50
