The amount of torque produced by an electric motor is considerably more than that produced by an ICE. in most 4x4 each axle will take a upto 50/50 torque so no real problem. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Not sure about the myth of infinite torque from electric motor as input current has to be limited on start up.

Ian, if you think about it you can't brake the slipping wheels as if if were both front or both rear the car won't go anywhere, should the car be either normally front or rear drive then you can transfer all the torque to the normal wheels, however once the non normally driven wheels come into play then the torque is split upto 50/50.
