Not really essential but best practise would suggest that you disconnect the battery before any electrical work. As it only takes a minute or so to undo the negative battery lead it`s better to be safe than sorry! |

Have you counted the gold pins in the switch bank and the number of cables in the loom connecting block ?

Not really the answer to your question but you could temporarily remove the fuse in the passenger footwell to disable them, however it is shared with the radio. |

It's possible that it needs to be enabled in the CCF, I'll check when I get a minute & see if it is listed as an option.
