Rear Parking Sensor Disable

Hi Folks
Does anyone know if I fit the switch bar (lock/unlock/hazards/parking sensor) which has the parking sensor disable switch to my 2007 GS - will it actually turn off the rear parking sensors?
Currently the car is fitted with the lock/hazards/lock switches.

Many Thanks - Any help greatly appreciated before I take the dash apart.

No personal experience but I did a quick search on the subject and it looks like it is plug and play! The wiring plug should already be in the loom behind the console so should just need plugging in when you change the switch panel. Good luck! Thumbs Up

Many thanks guys.

Will be fitting it tomorrow.

Do you think I should disconnect the battery?

Not really essential but best practise would suggest that you disconnect the battery before any electrical work. As it only takes a minute or so to undo the negative battery lead it`s better to be safe than sorry! Thumbs Up

Hi all
Thanks for all the help in getting the switch panel off.
Fitted the new switch panel however does not disable the rear parking sensors.
Sad
Any tips on what else I could try??
Thanks

Have you counted the gold pins in the switch bank and the number of cables in the loom connecting block ?

Not saying they should be the same number.

Not really the answer to your question but you could temporarily remove the fuse in the passenger footwell to disable them, however it is shared with the radio.

It's possible that it needs to be enabled in the CCF, I'll check when I get a minute & see if it is listed as an option.

Nick

Just had a quick look & can't see an option for the switch but there is an option under 'Parking Assistance' for it to be set as 'Without Parking Assistance'. I would imagine that would disable it totally. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.
