When you say you have checked the glow plugs have you removed them and tested them on a battery or removed them and reconnected the wiring to see what happens during the start up sequence? The glow plug light on the Freelander 2 is not a reliable indicator of glow plug operation as it very seldom comes on during glow plug activation. |

When you checked the glow plugs how long did they take to get hot? Did they glow orange at least half the length of the electrode? |

Is the starter motor working 100%. Just someone else had starting problems and renewed glow plugs etc but turned out to be the starter motor. Something worth checking perhaps?. |

Disconnect the loom from each glow plug, check with a meter on Ohms from the +ve connector on the top of the plug to any earth, meter should read about 2 Ohms but certainly less than 5 Ohms, anything higher the glow plug is duff. You need to disconnect each one as measuring when connected will read the resistance of the most serviceable plug, though it may be worth while as if the resistance is higher than 5 Ohms they are all knackered my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

looking at your other post you say you've changed the injectors? just wondering if you got one leaking out into the cylinder causing the initial lumpy running? |
