Have you checked ALL your audio settings?

What is selected when it pauses and crackles. Radio (which service, bandwith and station) , Traffic annoucement, Sat Nav, Recorded/Streamed Audio, from internal or external device. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

Do you get the crackle in all speakers or just one speaker / one side of the car?

Do you get the crackle in one source or all?

There is a known issue with the DAB audio module software causing a crackle, it was a left front speaker for me. Dealer software update resolved the problem on my 13my when I first got it.

I cant see any obvious connection between the Amplifier and the Instrument Lighting.

The Speakers appear to be fed directly by twin wire connection to Amplifier (no earth connection).

The Cigar Lighter Illumination is common to your Instrument Lighting.

The Amplifier and the Cigar Lighter Illumination are on completely separate earths.

More clues please, is engine running, etc? What else is effected. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

So when you say "Started to crackle and cut out for a few seconds" I assume you mean the sound/audio from the speakers. All speakers are connected to the Audio Amplifier Module (AAM), which shows no DTCs. The software in the AAM has an upgraded SW available, but the update was not done. Did whoever carried out the diagnostics give a reason for not carrying out the update? I assume this was at a main dealer?

When the AAM reboots from an unexpected power loss (or diagnostic hard reset) it is common for speakers to pop or crackle when the unit powers back up, but I think you get the crackle before the sound goes off.

I can't believe someone has put the effort in to plug into the car but done no further checks.

Can you check your AAM in another car?

You get a crackle noise all cuts out audio and Bluetooth is thrown then it comes back
Was not main dealer but a landrovee specialist where I bought freelander from ,
Upgrade was not carried out because they said this can sometimes cause more issues ,
Wish they done it now , all this happens with no device connected and also a couple of times with unit off
